All our stylists are self-employed, highly experienced and well-qualified.
Wayne Hurr
Having worked at some of the most prestigious salons in the UK, Wayne is a highly qualified colour technician with over twenty years experience. In 2007 he achieved the highest accolade in his industry, the L’Oreal Colour Specialist Degree from the L’Oreal Academy in Hammersmith.
In 2014 he opened his own salon, winning Bury St Edmunds Salon of the Year.
Mel Smith
Mel joins us after spending nearly 20 years at Toni & Guy in Bury St Edmunds, where she worked with most of the team currently at Wayne Hurr Hair.
She is committed to training and updating her knowledge, and has recently gained the NVQ Assessors' Award which enables her to help apprentices through their qualifications.
Mel's long career shows how committed she is to hairdressing and we are over the moon to have her at Wayne Hurr Hair.
Lucy Southern
Lucy is a well known face in the world of hairdressing with 10 years of experience with Toni & Guy and Wayne Hurr Hair.
Lucy specialises in colour and has achieved the Toni & Guy Diploma.
As a self-employed colour technician, Lucy offers the opportunity to have your hair coloured by a highly experienced stylist, without paying highly inflated prices.
Deniece White
Deniece qualified as a hairdresser back in the 90s and has been gaining experience ever since including working with Wayne at Toni & Guy. She is NVQ level 2 qualified and has her City & Guilds Level 3 Award in Assessing. Deniece has also completed many training courses to keep right up to date with changing trends and fashions.
Deniece cares passionately about hairdressing and will be pleased to see existing clients and offers a warm welcome to new clients.
Kirsty Cooper
Kirsty is an amazing stylist who has years of experience working at Rush and Wayne Hurr Hair with both cutting and colouring services.
Gaining her qualifications at the Rush Academy, Kirsty has been at Wayne Hurr Hair since 2019 and we are proud to have her at our salon.
Kirsty also offers a Keratin Blow-dry service and is currently taking on new clients.
Jemma Denniss
Jemma worked and trained at Toni & Guy, gaining her diploma and years of experience.
Jemma has exceptional flair and talent and has a loyal clientele.
Jemma has been self-employed at Wayne Hurr Hair since 2016 and now offers services at a fraction of the price she charged at other salons.
Jemma welcomes all clients - previous and new.
Helen Moore
Helen started her career at Toni & Guy in 2001, and chose to specialise in cutting and styling. Making the most of the education within the company, she always challenged herself to make each client unique.
She progressed to style Director and Helen left Toni & Guy in 2013 and started her own business. Helen still continues with her education, so that she can offer her clients current style trends and has been a stylist at Wayne Hurr Hair since we opened.

Lauren Brill
Lauren started her hairdressing career at Toni & Guy as an apprentice and gained a NVQ level 2 in Hairdressing in 2007. Lauren specialised in cutting and styling and in 2008 she achieved her Toni & Guy diploma and her NVQ level 3 in hairdressing at West Suffolk College.
Lauren has been self employed at Wayne Hurr Hair since 2016 and has a loyal clientele.
